Life is NOT a dress rehearsal! Now is the time to start doing all the things you’ve thought about doing but haven’t yet been ready to take the leap of faith.
I hear you saying, “But Rochelle, where do I start?”
That’s why I’m here. I’m going to show you exactly what to do with my step-by-step plan for redesigning your life.
I know women who survive breast cancer can find themselves at a crossroads, not knowing what to do next. They need guidance from someone who’s been there. It’s absolutely invaluable for creating their new lives.
That’s why I’m so passionate about helping other women who’ve been on this journey.
We share a common bond—we’ve been through the hard stuff, and it’s thankfully behind us. Now it’s time to come together and celebrate what we’ve overcome and what we’re about to become.
I know once you’ve had breast cancer you’re not the same person. I wasn’t either. The disease was a big wake-up call for me but it led to a life more amazing than I ever thought possible.
It’s time to turn your life around. Stick with me and I’ll see you through this transition! You’ll be amazed at what’s on the other side of “Now what?”
Hello, I’m Rochelle Togo-Figa.
I was a 43-year-old divorced woman living in NYC, working in an unfulfilling job and resigned to never marrying again. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, it turned my world upside down. I was devastated and shocked and constantly worried about how I would survive this disease. I began believing I could possibly die.
The only wonderful thing in my life at that time was a very special guy. But I honestly didn’t think he would stick around now that I was pretty sick. I thought nothing could get any worse than this. Then something shifted.
I sat up one morning and thought to myself, “Wait a minute Rochelle, you DO have choices…lots of them.” I realized I could either choose to fall apart, keep feeling sorry for myself and let this disease literally kill me, or take full responsibility for my life and powerfully deal with having breast cancer.
At that very moment, I made a life-altering decision. I chose to shift my mindset and stop looking at the worst-case scenario of every detail in my life.
This was huge because it meant changing every single negative thought about everything in my life and completely reframing them into powerful positive thoughts and affirmations.
I began to practice this daily by listening to motivational tapes and speakers, reading inspirational books, and surrounding myself with loving and supportive people.
As I made these changes, magical transformations began to happen. I started thinking about my life in a much more peaceful and positive way. I started to meditate daily and connect with my core self. I stopped pretending I had everything “under control” and began telling myself and others, the truth.
Every day I would journal my step-by-step process. I continually reinforced my mindset by realizing that by controlling my thoughts I could manifest absolutely anything I wanted in my life. As I practiced these steps, I became free, at ease and at peace within myself.
Incredibly, the special man I had started dating just before I was diagnosed told me he wasn’t going anywhere! He was so impressed with my joie de vive and for the person I was becoming during this process—real, authentic, soul-centered—he proposed!
Another miraculous event that occurred was my breast cancer recovery went very well and much quicker than all the doctors had predicted. I began feeling the healthiest and most vibrant in my life. With all these miracles in my life, I decided it was time to chart my own course and follow my dream of helping other women who have had breast cancer break through to their most fulfilling lives.
I made the choice to turn breast cancer on its head.
I made the choice to change my mindset.
One of the first things I did was I slowed myself down. I started spending time with myself. I stopped working and I allowed people to give to and contribute to me. People started reaching out to me. People asked, “How can I help you?” I was just blown away. For the first time in my life, I actually began to enjoy my life in a way that I never did when I was healthy.
I allowed myself to be open to possibilities and opportunities, and guess what, they started coming in droves!
Not only have I created a thriving, successful coaching business, and as a motivational speaker, I’ve been happily married for 16 years. My soul mate and I live in our dream home, have done more traveling around the world this year than ever before and have much more quality time to share with friends and loved ones.
I am a fully expressed human being.
I love everything about my life and everything I do, and now I have a burning desire to help other women who have survived breast cancer THRIVE just like me. That’s why I’ve created the website Your Life After Breast Cancer. And that’s why I’ll tirelessly support other women like me.
I’m living my life purpose and loving every minute of it!
In short, breast cancer turned out to be an amazing gift that transformed my life.
Isn’t enjoying your life more and doing the things that matter most to you what life is about?
All these series of events happened because I did one simple thing: I chose to think differently and create a richer, more authentic, more fulfilling lifestyle for myself and those around me.
Today I show women how to approach life confidently and from a place of authenticity and genuineness. I know there are many women joyful they have survived breast cancer and know they have to do things differently than before, but they don’t know how. I show women the steps to follow so that they can live life to its fullest on their terms—with passion and purpose! (By the way, I’m also writing a book—Your Life After Breast Cancer—never thought I’d be a book author, too!)

“Rochelle, thank you for lifting the veil and allowing me to see I can go for it! I can actually give myself a hug, a shove, and a smile because I can see where I am going and I know what it takes to get there. Thank you!”
Your passion is moving. Your workshop shifted me from wondering to knowing how to take the next step. Thank you for lifting the veil and allowing me to see I can go for it! I can actually give myself a hug and a shove, and smile because I can see where I am going and I know what it takes to get there. Thank you.

Have questions? I'd love to hear from you! That's what I'm here for. If you need more details, want a little walk-through of how the day will unfold or if you are curious about what I do as a Thriver Mentor, I invite you to call me directly. Please call (914) 923-6351, and I'll be happy to help! You can also email me at to set up a time to chat.
So, my dear friend, where are you today? How has your life been after breast cancer?
Are you:
- still stuck in a dead-end job?
- staying in an unfulfilling marriage?
- continuing to take care of everyone but yourself first?
- putting off a much-needed vacation?
- settling for what feels like a half-life?
- feeling lost and unmotivated?
All of this is completely understandable—but the good news is you can do something about it, just like I did.
Breast cancer can be a gift. You may not believe that in this moment, but you will absolutely after we’re done talking!
It’s funny isn’t it, how when you’re given the big D (diagnosis) you find yourself thinking other women get this, not me. Yet when you hear of women overcoming cancer and going on to be exceptional thrivers, again, you think, other women do this, not me. It seems easier and more natural for others to go this route. Looks like “they” have it all together or “they” somehow have toughness or willpower or some illusive trait I don’t seem to have.
“Nonsense!” I say. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
You might hear about other women doing amazing things after they’ve had breast cancer (you’ll read about some of them on this page), whether in your neighborhood, across the country or on the news and think, Nah, I couldn’t do what they do.
Let me ask you this—have you tried? I mean really tried? I bet there is something inside that’s calling to you…
It’s time to redesign your life. You can be a thriver, too!

“Rochelle clearly cared, not only about my success, but about me as a person...”
What impacted me most was how much Rochelle clearly cared, not only about my success, but about me as a person. She really LISTENED, letting me talk about my underlying fears and emotions pertaining to running my own business for the first time. She helped me shift the way I was thinking about my business. This in turn enabled me to reach beyond my comfort zone and to take my business to the next level.
Thank you Rochelle!

Donna Deegan is a journalist, philanthropist, and
marathoner. A three-time breast cancer survivor, she is
the founder and president of The Donna Foundation, which
funds the critical needs of underserved women with
breast cancer. She is also the founder of 26.2 with
Donna, the nation’s only marathon distance race
dedicated solely to breast cancer research and care.
Donna is an evening news anchor for First Coast News,
Gannett Broadcasting’s NBC and ABC affiliate stations in
Jacksonville Florida.
Donna is an incredibly energetic, vivacious lady and her
passion for her purpose shines through everything she
does. If she hadn’t had breast cancer publicly on TV,
none of the amazing things she’s done since then would
have happened. Here are some words of encouragement from
her: “Realize your purpose—it’s one of those things
where if your eyes are open and you’re aware, that’s
the first step to anything. Allow yourself to be aware
of the possibilities. Match your passions with your
talents. You can go as far as you want to go. I really
believe that. It’s all about connecting with others.”

Gina Andrews was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 at
31 years old, six days after delivering her child. She
soon found out there were limited resources for women,
specifically under the age of 40. Gina strives to
promote early breast cancer detection, bring awareness
to young women, and raise funds through her apparel line
to donate to charities that provide breast cancer
services through her new company, SaveRBoobies.
Gina’s sensitive, thoughtful nature is combined with a
strong inner power that has stood the test of time.
Breast cancer created an unexpected door of opportunity
for Gina. She instinctively knew she was chosen to make
a difference for other women facing the same challenge:
“I felt it wasn’t really about me. It was about taking
my experience and not allowing other women to go through
what I went through and try to really help them with
support, love, hope and whatever resources I could
provide.”

Patricia Royall is the founder of Jazzy Johnnies, a line
of patient wear that is dignified, stylish, and
comfortable. A breast cancer survivor of 16 years, she
has been a soloist for the International Cast of “Up
with People.” She later went into non-profit arts
administration and was Executive Director of The Center
for the Arts at the Chocolate Church and Maine Writers
and Publishers Alliance.
Who would have thought a day spent in a hospital waiting
room would change Patricia’s life? She was tired of
wearing typical hospital gowns for her breast cancer
treatments. On that fateful day, she rummaged around and
found a Johnnie much different from the rest. Patricia
says: “In that span of that 12-minue treatment, I
decided I’m going to do something about these Johnnies
and I’m going to call them Jazzy Johnnies. That was my
“ah-ha” moment. I just knew I wanted to create something
of comfort for my cancer comrades.”

Andrea Raynor a graduate of Harvard Divinity School, is
a United Methodist minister, a chaplain, and a cancer
survivor. In the aftermath of September 11th, she served
as a chaplain to the morgue at Ground Zero, offering
blessings over remains and support to the many workers
there. Her new book, The Voice That Calls You Home, a
collection of essays from her life experiences, was
recently published by Atria Books, a division of Simon
and Schuster.
Andrea, known as Andy, is an articulate, down-to-earth,
stalwart champion of the homeless, the sick and the
dying. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at 45 while
she was in the process of writing her book. Having
breast cancer opened her eyes to the stark reality of
her own mortality and made her dig deep inside her soul
to find a new inner strength. Soon those experiences
also found their way onto the pages. Andy sums up the
essence of her book: “It’s not about going to that other
home after we die, but it’s really finding a new sense
of home within ourselves and feeling at home in the
world. That feeling at home is where we feel happy and
well and whole regardless of what happens to us in our
lives.” |

Remember, I said these stories are not meant to
intimidate you. They are simply examples of women who
have not let breast cancer be the end but the beginning.
No one expects you to become the next poster girl for a
breast cancer research center or to start joining the
cause for saving the whales.
These women are thrivers. These women are no different
than you. They’ve taken something that’s so traumatic
and turned it into a life-positive experience. It’s been
transformational for them. It was transformational for
me. And it will be transformational for you.
I know what’s possible. It took breast cancer for me to
be living my dream.
Whatever your dreams are, they’re
yours and they’re
possible.

“She REALLY helped me see how important it is to develop
and nurture a healthy mindset…”
What I loved best about Rochelle’s training is the
wisdom she shared about how important our MINDSET is to
our success. She really helped me see how important it
is to develop and nurture a healthy mindset because if
you don’t think you can do it, you can’t. Rochelle had
us delve into our own mindset “gunk” in a way that was
not intimidating but very liberating!
Rochelle Togo-Figa lights up the stage, is a pure joy to
learn from, and made me feel like MY success was the
most important thing in the world to her. Rochelle’s
authenticity and humor enhanced her ability to teach
many attendees with ease and grace, while also
increasing their confidence in their own ability!

PS: We’re all in a different place in our life journey.
There is no right or wrong way to go about living a new
life. You don’t need to compare yourself to anyone else,
whether they’ve climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, opened a
clothing store on 5th and main or simply learned how to
knit. Whatever brings you the most joy, whatever you’re
passionate about, you can aim your life in that
direction and live what you love to do. Take action now.
PPS: If you’re on the fence, and not sure if you’re
ready to make changes, that’s just fine. Come and join
us anyway. Think of it as a fact-finding mission, but
remember, another day spent settling for the status quo
is a day lost to new opportunities. Chances are, you’ll
get a lot more out of this workshop than just the facts.
Don’t miss out. It is probably exactly what you need to
do!
